Walchand College of Engineering (WCE) is a government-aided autonomous institution that was established in 1947 in Sangli Maharashtra as a private institution by Hon’ble Dhondumama Sathe in an area of spacious 90 acres in a perfect placid atmosphere to produce engineers with aptitude in research and leadership, and the same year it was affiliated with Bombay University. After the establishment of Pune University in 1948, it was affiliated with that. In 1955, it was renamed after Industrialist Walchand Hirachand. It is accredited with an “A” grade by the NAAC, and its courses are approved by the AICTE.

As WCE is in Sangli, one of the important cities in Maharashtra, it has a fair transport system along with a railway station, however, it doesn’t have an airport, but students can use Pune International Airport which is at a distance of 245 km away from the institution is available for travel by air, and Sangli Railway Station which is at a distance of 2.9 km away is available for travel by train. How to Get Admission at WCE

For UG Course: Candidates who passed or appeared in the +2 or any other equivalent exam thereto with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved category candidates) should take MHT-CET/JEE Main entrance examination and should get a valid score to be selected for counseling process conducted by MHT-CET and choose WCE as their preferences of choice in that counseling to get admission to UG courses at this institution.

For PG Courses: Candidates who passed a UG degree in the respective stream with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved category candidates) need to take GATE and get a valid score to be selected in the counseling process conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell and choose WCE as their preferences of choice to get admission to PG courses at this institution.
