The National Institute of Engineering (NIE) was established in 1946 in Mysuru in an area of 25 acres in a serene sylvan atmosphere as a private institution to impart engineering education through conventional as well as contemporary methods. It is a grant-in-aid institution approved by the AICTE and whose four UG programs and one PG program are accredited by the NBA under tier-1. How to Get Admission at NIE
For UG Course: Candidates who passed or appeared the PUC/+2 or any other equivalent exam thereto and English as one of the subjects with Mathematics and Physics along with any one of the Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Electronics with a minimum of 45% marks (50% for candidates who apply through management quota) (40% for SC/ST for Cat. 1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B candidates) need to take and clear CET/COMED-K/JEE entrance examinations for admission to UG programs.
For PG Courses: Candidates who passed a degree equivalent to BE in the respective stream with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC Cat. I candidates) with a valid GATE score are admitted to PG programs
