Sona College of Technology (SCT) was established in 1997 by the Industrialist and Philanthropist Thiru M. S. Chockalingam in Salem Tamilnadu in an ample area of 34.5 acres surrounded by Chervarayan hills in a serene green atmosphere to provide education to the downtrodden people and make India standup in the global arena in the manufacturing industry. It is a private institution affiliated with Anna University and it got autonomous status in 2012. It is accredited “A” by the NAAC approved by the AICTE and whose programs are accredited by the NBA. It is one of the Sona Group of Institutions whose root was established 100 years ago by Karumuttu Thiagarajar Chettiar.

SONATSAV is the annual techno-cultural fest celebrated for three days in February where a barrage of technical events and a spectrum of cultural events are organized to induce the interest of the students in engineering and technology and also arts and give them a platform to showcase their technical prowess and make them well-versed in current trending technologies, and winners of events are awarded prize money a total sum of 3 lakhs.

How to Get Admission at SCT

For UG Course: Candidates who passed or appeared in the +2 exam or equivalent to any other exam thereto with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of the Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology with the 50% marks (45% for reserved category candidates) in these above subjects are eligible to apply, and admission is based on the merit in the qualifying exam.

For PG Course: Candidates who passed the BE/B.Tech in the relevant stream or MSc/MCA with 50% marks (45% for reserved category candidates) need to take TANCET/GATE and get a valid score/rank to get admission to PG courses, and admission is given through TANCA counseling.
