PSG College of Technology was established in 1951 by PSG Sons’ Charities Trust which was established in 1926 by P. S. Govindaswamy Naidu to give education to the people of Coimbatore who faced the difficulty to get education in their area then. It was planned to situate the same campus of an area of 45 acres for effective industry-institute interactions. In 1978, this institute was given autonomous status to decide its own curriculum and manage its financial and administrative matters, and now, it is an affiliated institution of Anna University.
