Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) is located in Gandhinagar in an area of 100 acres with a placid atmosphere. It has been established by the Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute (GERMI) as a Private University through the State Act enacted on 4th April 2007. The University offers programs to address the need for trained human resources in the fields of Science, Technology, Management, and Humanities. PDPU spent over Rs. 87 crores in 2021 as operational expenditure, of which half of 56.2% of its funds spent on paying salaries to professors and supporting staff, a considerable 43.22% of its funds spent on maintaining academic infrastructures, and the remaining 0.58% spent on conducting Seminars, Conferences, and Workshops. Spending as an operational expenditure was Rs. 61 crores in 2020 and Rs. 52 crores in 2019. The spending as an operational expenditure has also increased in 2021 when compared to the last two years.

At PDPU, 862 students have been admitted to UG degree courses and 87.7% of them graduated, of whom 67.57% got placements at top companies and 201 were selected for higher studies in 2021; 84.79% of students graduated, of whom 84.51% got placements and 275 were selected for higher studies in 2020; and 89.22% of students graduated, of whom 51.64% got placements and 110 were selected for higher studies in 2019.

How to Get Admission at PDPU Gandhinagar
Admission to PG courses: Candidates who passed a bachelor’s degree in their respective stream with 60% or CPI/CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the qualifying degree recognized by the UGC/AICTE can take and should clear GATE/PGCET. And also, the performance score obtained in a personal interview by the candidates is considered for the candidates who have not taken GATE/PGCET.
