M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) was started in 1962 in Bangalore, Karnataka by Late Dr. M S Ramaiah, Founder Chairman who was a renowned visionary, philanthropist, and pioneer in creating several landmark infrastructure projects in India. Noticing the shortage of talented engineering professionals required to build a modern India, Dr. M S Ramaiah envisioned MSRIT as an institute of excellence to impart quality and affordable education. In view of the Industrialization of the Indian economy, MSRIT started immediately the Industrial and Production Engineering branch in 1979. The Institute of Engineers (India) recognized the industrial and production engineering courses offered by this institution in 1989. 2. Dr. M. S. Ramaiah Memorial Parliamentary Debate

It is one of the biggest annual parliamentary debate tournaments in India conducted by the literary and debating club and it has been known to have many participants in South India where many prestigious institutions like IIT Bombay, NIT Surathkal, RVCE, VIT, etc., are participating.

3. Shoutout – The Intra-College Theatre Fest

Shoutout is the festival for solely MSRIT where theater, acting, playwriting, editing, movie making, background music scoring have been performed. Entries are open for events in one-act plays, movies, skits & Short Ads. Professionals are invited to judge and select the winners where winners have been awarded prize money.

4. Kannada Rajyotsava

This is the most celebrated function at the MSRIT campus being celebrated in November where many cultural programs are being conducted and prizes have been distributed for winners. Many pieces of literature, film fraternity, and other notable persons are being invited to celebrate this festival.

5. Udbhav – The Inter-College Festival

How to Get Admission at MSRIT Bengaluru

Admission to UG courses at MSRIT: A candidate who has passed 10 + 2 patterns of examination (equivalent to the two years Pre University in Karnataka) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/ Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination is eligible to pursue an undergraduate degree in engineering at MSRIT. Minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST/Category 1/OBC) are required for admission. In case, candidates got less marks in Chemistry in the qualifying exam than required marks, then marks obtained in Biotechnology, Biology, Computer science, or Electronics can be considered. Candidates are requested to take and clear the entrance test conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) or the Consortium of Medical, Dental, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka.

Admission to PG courses: Candidates who passed a bachelor’s degree or are appearing for the final exam in respective disciplines can take and should clear the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)/PGCET of Karnataka for admission to PG courses into this institution.
