    1. Passed 12th class or equivalent with Maths, Physics, and Chemistry and belong to any one of the following categories:
      1. Qualified for the UDAAN scheme of CBSE.
      2. Studied at a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) at least for the last two years.
      3. Students who have currently enrolled in the 4th semester of an integrated, 6 year 12th + B. Tech program (after the 10th class).
Applicants in the mode need to appear for a computer-based entrance exam conducted by IIIT Hyderabad. The exam will test applicants on subject proficiency. Subject proficiency test for 60 minutes held in multiple centres across many cities and then short-listed candidates from this exam will have to clear an interview to gain admission. The decision on the final offer of admission is solely based on the interview performance.
  1. JEE Main total percentile in this exam is mandatory for application to this mode of admission. For the candidate who attempted the JEE Main exam more than once out of 4 sessions, the best percentile of the attempts will be considered. Ties among applicants in the total percentile are resolved by considering first the maths, then the physics, and then the chemistry percentiles from the corresponding exam before ranking all the applicants. Any ties at the subject level among applicants will be handled by assigning the same rank to the applicants who will then be treated on par. Class 12 marks have no bearing on the ranking and seat allotment. For PG courses: Candidates are selected through the postgraduate students status program.
