Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (Amrita University) was established in 1994 by Sri Mata Amritanandamyi Devi in Ettimadai at the foothills of Bouluvanpatty ranges of the Western Ghats near Coimbatore Tamil Nadu as a School of Engineering. It has an area of 400 acres surrounded by mountains of Western Ghats. In 2003, it was elevated as Deemed-to-be-University.

How to Get Admission at Amrita University Coimbatore

For UG courses at Amrita University: Students who passed Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) main exam can get admission directly, but those who didn’t appear for JEE should take Amrita Entrance Examination – Engineering (AEEE) at this University.

For PG courses: Students who passed a bachelor’s degree or appeared for the final exam can take the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and should pass GATE or should pass TANCET to get admission to this University. Others are admitted based on a telephonic/personal interview.
