National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal) started as a regional engineering college in 1959 in Kazipet, Warangal in a serene sylvan atmosphere, however, in 2002, it was elevated as a deemed university and renamed as National Institute of Technology to impart a quality technical education and create the well-qualified professionals with entrepreneurial skills and social responsibility who are able to face the challenges from the world of technology. It was nurtured by the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) during 2004-9 under the World Bank’s assistance.
