National Institute of Technology, Raipur (NIT Raipur) was started as a Government Engineering College in Raipur, Chhattisgarh in 1956 in an area of 100 acres in a serene atmosphere with only 2 branches, namely, Metallurgy and Mining. Since then, it has grown in tandem with the surrounding major industries such as Bhilai Steel Plant, SECL, BALCO, and NPCL. In 2005, it was declared as the National Institute of Technology.

Annual Festivals at NIT Raipur

Eclectika is the annual cultural festival being celebrated for 3 days in the spring season every year, which is the biggest event in central India where more than 100 colleges and 12000 students are participating and more than 50 events in various disciplines are being organized. Eclectika itself means all the strings needed for the music of innovation, conception, and success. It is a platform to nurture talents, choose the best, and sense unity. In this cultural festival, many stunning events such as 6 Mega Events, Pro-Nite, Cult-Nite, Informal Events are being organized where a vivid collection of music programs are being organized for avid contesters. Moreover, winners of the competitions are awarded prize money of Rs. 50,000.

Aavartan is the annual technical festival being celebrated where 30+ events on engineering and science & technology are being organized. Besides this, the Vigyan Science Exhibition is also being organized. This technical festival was organized by solely the students of the Technical Committee of NIT Raipur.

How to Get Admission at NIT Raipur

For UG courses at NIT Raipur: Candidates who passed the +2 exam or appeared for the +2 exam can take and should clear JEE Main for admission to UG courses into this Institution. Seats are allotted through JoSSA/CSAB.
