National Institute of Technology Meghalaya (NIT Meghalaya) was established in 2010 in Shillong, Meghalaya to build it to be a Center of Excellence in education and research in the field of engineering science & technology. Spending as an operational expenditure was Rs. 15 crores in 2020 and Rs. 14 crores in 2019. The spending as an operational expenditure has increased in 2021 when compared to the last two years.

Since National Institute of Technology Meghalaya has a good faculty and good infrastructures, therefore, it was able to file 4 and 3 patent applications and did not get anything in 2021 and 2020, respectively. However, it did not file any patent applications in 2019.

In the PhD research programme, NIT Meghalaya admitted 168 students to research studies, of whom 7 were awarded graduations in 2021, 9 and 6 students were awarded graduations in 2020 and 2019, respectively.

Median Salary of UG graduation: Rs. 5 LPA in 2021 and also in 2020, and Rs. 5.4 LPA in 2019 at top companies.

Accessibility
NIT Meghalaya is temporarily in Shillong, but soon it will be shifted to its permanent location in Cherrapunjee. As Meghalaya is a hill state, there is no railway station in that state, however, another main railway station, Guwahati Railway Station in Assam, which is at a distance of 98.5 kms from this institution is available for commuting to this institution. How to Get Admission at NIT Meghalaya
Admission to UG Courses: Candidates who passed 10+2 or any other equivalent exam recognised by the university need to take and clear JEE Main. Seats are allotted through JoSSA/CSAB.
Admission to PG Courses: Candidates who passed UG in respective streams can take and should clear GATE.
Fee Structure at NIT Meghalaya
