National Institute of Technology Durgapur (NIT Durgapur) is situated in Durgapur, West Bengal in an ample area of 187 acres in a green serene atmosphere. It was initially established as one of eight regional engineering colleges in 1960 aiming to pace setter for engineering education in the country and nurture the national integration, and it is a fully-government funded premier technical institution governed by the autonomous Board of Governors, however, in 2007, the Government of India declared this college as the Institute of National Importance and fully funded this institute, and the administration of this institute is governed by an independent Board of Governors.

How to Get Admission at NIT Durgapur
