Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), Allahabad is located in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. It was started as a 17th Regional Engineering College (REC) by a joint venture of the Government of India (GoI) and Government of Uttar Pradesh in 1961 and was an associated college of the University of Allahabad, which is the third oldest university in India. In 2002, it was declared as deemed university and renamed as National Institute of Technology from REC and fully funded by the GoI.
