The Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT Patna) is one of the youngest second-generation IITs in India established in 2008 at Bihta near Patna, Bihar, in a sprawling area of 501 acres with a serene green atmosphere on the banks of river Ganga. Spending as an operational expenditure was Rs. 77 crores in 2020 and Rs. 70 crores in 2019. So, spending as an operational expenditure has been increased in 2021 when compared with the last two years.

IIT Patna has many distinguished professors and research scholars in its faculty, so, many big companies are willing to sponsor IIT Patna, and therefore, it received Rs. 11.9 cores through the 46 sponsored research projects from 19 companies in the year 2021. In 2020 and 2019, it received Rs. 8 and Rs. 9.36 crores through 48 and 82 sponsored research projects from 11 and 24 companies, respectively.
