Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) was established in 1961 as an Engineering College, later, it was declared The Institute of National Importance by the Government of India and renamed as Indian Institute of Technology, and it was elevated deemed university to decide its education policies like deciding its own syllabus and conducting its exams. It is the first-generation IIT created to be a Center of Excellence for training, research, and development in science, engineering, and technology in India. Cultural Festival: IIT Delhi celebrates the annual festival called RENDEZVOUS for four days in October every year, where many competitions such as singing, dancing, literary, etc., are organized to make students enthralled and help them to ward off nostalgia due to long studies in the classrooms, besides, this fest give them a platform to showcase their cultural artistry and make them creative people. In this fest, many prominent personalities have also been participating which makes this fest even more colorful.
Technical Festival: TRYST is the annual technical fest celebrated for four days in February and March on the campus where a barrage of technical events such as guest lectures, seminars, technical workshops, exhibitions, competitions, etc., are conducted, and more than 45,000 students from the nation and the world participate in this fest. This is the biggest fest in North India where scintillating scientific minds, renewed technologists, influential thinkers along with curious students converge on the campus and show their technical prowess. This fest makes students get to know about current trending technologies and gives them a platform to showcase their technical skills. Many notable personalities such as Steve Ballmer, Horst Koehler, Jeff Lieberman, Harry Marshall, Ryoji Noyori, etc., have been participating in this fest.

How to Get Admission at IIT Delhi
For UG courses at IIT Delhi: Students who passed or appeared for the +2 exam can take Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and should pass the minimum cut-off mark set by JEE in JEE advanced exam.
For PG courses: Students who passed bachelor’s degrees or appeared for the final exam can take the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and should pass GATE to get admission to IITD.
Fee Structure at IIT Delhi
Students need to pay Rs. 8.45 lakhs as the total fees, however, they can get a good salary of Rs. 15.5 LPA at top companies if they get a job after completion of the course. Therefore, they can earn back the fees within a year, and the burden of fees would be eased soon.
