Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology (SLIET) was established in 1989 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of India as a public institution in Longowal Punjab in an area of sprawling 451 acres in a picturesque placid atmosphere to be an international center for providing technical competence education thereby catering the requirement of technical manpower with practical training. As SLIET is in Longowal Punjab, it does not have a major railway station or an international airport. However, a major railway station and an international airport are available nearby major cities. Both Bharur Railway Station which is around 17.3 km away and Patiala Railway Station which is about 77.4 km away from the institution are available to commute to the institution by rail, and Chandigarh International Airport is about 144 km away from the institution is available for travel by air. How to Get Admission at SLIET Longowal

For UG courses at SLIET: Candidates who passed the +2 exam with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Vocational Subject need to take JEE Main and get a required rank/score for admission to the UG course, and admission is given through JoSSA/CSAB.

For PG courses: Candidates who passed the UG course in the respective stream or Section B of the Institutions of Engineers in the respective branch or grade IETE with three years of professional experience at the reputed organization with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for reserved candidates) with a valid GATE score need to attend CCMT counseling for admission to the PG course at SLIET.
