Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) was established in 2001 by the Government of West Bengal as a state public institution functioning from West Bengal State Archives Building located at Shakespeare Sarani in Kolkata West Bengal in a serene sylvan atmosphere to provide an industrial framework based on the knowledge economy for the West Bengal. It is a recipient of a UGC grant whose UG courses are approved by the NBA. It has 40 acres of campus area aiming to become the center of excellence in India and the world through interdisciplinary studies and innovative research. How to Get Admission at MAKAUT Nadia

For UG courses at MAKAUT: Candidates who passed the +2 exam with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of the Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Computer Applications as the compulsory subjects need to take West Bengal Joint Entrance Board (WBJEE) for admission to UG courses, however, for non-AICTE professionals courses, candidates who passed the +2 exam in a general or vocational stream need to take and clear CET.

For PG courses (M. Tech Bioinformatics): The candidates who passed or have appeared the UG engineering degree with 7.25 on 10 point CGPA scale (or 65%) or M.Sc. Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics/Biosciences with 60% marks at least in any two subjects from Physics, Chemistry, and mathematics in the +2 exam, 55% marks in B.Sc. (Honors), and 55% marks in M.Sc., need to take PGET for admission to M. Tech Bioinformatics course.

For other courses: Candidates should have a 6.75 on a 10-point CGPA scale, in addition, they should have a minimum of 50% marks in all the examinations (45% for reserved candidates), and they have passed the Membership/Associateship Examination in the appropriate disciplines conducted by all professional bodies like Institute of Engineers (India)/Institute of Electronics Telecommunication Engineers, etc. approved by Govt. of India with at least 60% marks in the aggregate (50% for SC/ST/PD candidates) (DOEACC B-level is also included) are eligible to apply.

For Software Engineering: M.Sc. (Mathematics) and MCA candidates with a science background, i.e., Science in HS level and passed B.Sc. with Physics, Mathematics (compulsory) and Computer Science, Electronics or Chemistry are eligible to apply.

All eligible candidates need to take the GATE/admission test (written test and personal interview) conducted by the MAKAUT for admission to PG courses.
