Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is one of the oldest universities that first started in Aligarh, then United Province, present Uttar Pradesh in 1920 by the Foundation Committee and Hakim Ajmal Khan was elected as its first Chancellor. In 1925, it was shifted to its current place Karol Bagh in New Delhi. In 1962, the UGC declared this institution as deemed to be a university for its performance in education. In 1978, a BE course in civil engineering was started. In 1985, it established the faculty of Engineering and Technology and the University Computer Center. In 1988, it was declared a Central University of India by a special Act of Parliament.

How to Get Admission at JMI New Delhi

For UG Graduation: Students should have a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2 to take the common entrance test (CUCET) conducted by JMI and should pass that test or Students who passed JEE main are also eligible to get admission to JMI.
