Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh (PEC Chandigarh) initially started in Lahore as Mughalpura Engineering College in 1921 moved to its present campus in 1953 in an area of 149 acres as PEC Chandigarh affiliated to Panjab University. The institute became a Deemed University in 2003 through an MHRD notification and was rechristened as PEC University of Technology in 2009.
